Prairie Ridge Elementary School


In second grade we strive to ensure that every student has the opportunity to become a member of a community of learners that is constantly growing and learning. Second grade teachers want to foster a love of learning in the children that we teach and a belief that with effort and determination, they can achieve any task. We work towards engaging students with enthusiasm as they learn through a variety of styles. We help foster the growth necessary to meet the future challenges of their academic career.

During the course of our year we look forward to helping your child strengthen their decoding and comprehension skills in reading. We will explore the writing process in a writer's workshop environment. In math we will provide practice with different types of mathematical processes. We will also enjoy learning about weather, the moon, Australia, plants and butterflies. We look forward to being a partner in your child's educational journey.
